2006-08-21 [Whiskers]: Well, the concert f'cking pwned. And here's my review of the Dir en grey section:
I was sitting there with my friend Tara, nearly bouncing out of my seat . . . and then G.D.S. came on. I knew that this was really happening and I leapt up and began chanting, "Kill, kill, kill, kill!" at all the right times. Then . . . Shinya came on and took his place behind his drum set. Next came Die, then Toshiya, and then Kaoru. And then, finally . . . Kyo.
They burst into Merciless Cult once G.D.S. was over, and Kyo did a great job (not one of his more recent half-assed ones). They then played a brand new song (*gasp!*) before doing RYOJOKU NO AME.
Kyo had to take a short break then, and then they did audience KILLER LOOP followed by dead tree before he had to take a final break. And then . . . Spilled Milk.
They closed with CLEVER SLEAZOID. After they went offstage, I ran towards the booth where you could meet the band and I met-up with a few other friends of mine that were there (a few of them from Online).
Then . . . Die and Shinya appeared. I know, it's not the entire band, but, come on, people! It's Shinya and Die. How cool is that? So, I got to shake their hands, and Die even pointed at my Dir en grey shirt and smiled at me.
In short . . . I had one of the best days of my life

And Shinya was so cute at the meeting (not to sound homosexual). He looked genuinely uncomfortable around so many people ^^
And then when they left everybody waved and yelled, "Goodbye!" and Die and Shinya waved back.

I was listening to the song "Premier Amour" by Malice Mizer and I realized how genius that band was: Mana ('nuf said), Tetsu, Gackt, and Klaha (all great vocalists), Kami on drums (may he rest in peace), Yu~Ki on bass, and Közi on guitar. It was then that I listened to "Gardenia," "Beast of Blood," "Illuminati," and "Garnet."
And I automatically felt better than I had. The band was so great, and it's sad that they've been seperated for so long. Sure, Mana, Klaha, Közi, and Gackt all have solo careers, but I don't think that they'll ever be able to equal the greatness that was Malice Mizer.
